Utilisation et sources d'émission 1 2

Le disulfure de carbone est très utilisé dans les milieux de travail depuis le 19e siècle, car il a plusieurs propriétés intéressantes.

Il est utilisé notamment :

  • comme réactif pour faire de la xanthate de cellulose dans la production de textiles (viscose ou rayonne)
  • pour la production de cellophane (film de cellulose), d'adhésifs de bois pressé et de xanthates de caoutchouc vulcanisé
  • dans la manufacture de produits chimiques comme le tétrachlorure de carbone et certains types de thiocyanates
  • dans la production de tubes à vide électronique
  • comme solvant pour des résines, des cires, des gras, des huiles ou des plastiques
