Par conséquent, la classification des risques liés à la santé pourrait être différente, selon l'inhibiteur utilisé et sa concentration. La classification des risques physiques tient compte de son état inhibé. Cependant, sous certaines conditions (par exemple, déplétion ou absence de l'inhibiteur) une polymérisation dangereuse peut se produire.
