L'atrazine est un herbicide systémique sélectif, utilisé pour contrôler les mauvaises herbes en pré-émergence et en post-émergence. Elle est absorbée principalement par les racines mais aussi par les feuilles et sa fonction consiste à inhiber la photosynthèse. L'atrazine se trouve notamment dans des cultures de maïs, de sorgho, de canne à sucre, de canola et de bleuets.
