First aid

Inhalation
In case of dust inhalation, move the person to fresh air and place the person in half-upright position. If breathing has stopped, administer artificial respiration. In case of breathing difficulties, give oxygen. Transfer the person immediately to the nearest medical emergency center.

Eye contact
Rinse the eyes with plenty of water for 20 minutes . Consult a physician.

Skin contact
Remove contaminated clothes promptly. Rinse the skin with plenty of water for 20 minutes or until the product is eliminated. Consult a physician.

Ingestion
In case of ingestion, rinse mouth. Give a glass of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting and consult a physician. Never give anything by mouth to an unconsicous or convulsing person .

 

Safety hazards

This product absorbs water from air and reacts with water to produce corrosive fumes of hydrogen chloride and heat.

Extinguishing media and special procedures
This product is not combustible.  If involved in a fire, use carbon dioxide, alcohol-resistant foam or dry chemicals.  In the case of a major fire, you can also use water spray.  Do not use water steams.  Wear  a self-contained breathing apparatus with a full face mask and protective clothing.  Cool containers with water spray.

Health hazards

Occupational exposure occurs mainly through contact with the eyes, skin or inhalation of dusts and mists.

Effects of short-term exposure

Skin and eye contact
This product is irritant or corrosive to the skin, eyes and respiratory tract. The severity of symptoms may vary with exposure conditions (contact length, product concentration, etc.).

 

Preventive measures

Protective equipment

Respiratory tract
Above than or equal to 1mg/m³ (as Fe), wear a particulate filter respirator with a full face mask.

Skin
Wear plastic or rubber gloves.  If needed, wear an impermeable paron and boots to prevent skin contact.

Eyes
Wear a faceshield if there is a risk of dust exposure or splash exposure from corrrosive liquid..

Handling procedures

Handle away from incompatible materials.  Avoid inhalating dust or powder.

 Storage requirements

 Store in a tightly sealed container, in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area.

Leak or spill

 Pick up  solid and place in a tightly closed container.  Avoid generating dust clouds.
